JMDG
Marine Winch
Tens of thousands of newton-metres at drum speed — how the JMDG crank-type radial piston motor powers mooring and anchor-handling winches.

Mooring lines and anchor chains put a winch under enormous, slowly varying tension — the drive must pull hard at low speed, pay out under control, and never lose the load in a blackout.
Motor roles in this machine
- JMDG — drum drive: Crank-type radial piston design with up to 32,182 N·m torque and displacement to 16,040 ml/r — direct low-speed drum drive without an intermediate gearbox in many frames. JMDG reference →
- Controlled pay-out: Smooth torque from 3 r/min gives metered line speed under tension, with brake and counterbalance options for fail-safe holding.
