THOTH Hydraulics Insight is the technical publication of Ningbo Zhongyi Hydraulic Motor Co., Ltd. — a hydraulic motion specialist founded in 1971, headquartered in Ningbo, China. This site exists to share field-tested engineering knowledge with the people who design, specify, and maintain hydraulic systems.

Ningbo Zhongyi Hydraulic Motor Co., Ltd. (中意液压) was established in 1971 as a dedicated hydraulic motor manufacturer. Over five decades, it has grown into one of China’s largest high-tech enterprises specialising exclusively in hydraulic motion.
The company operates two manufacturing facilities — in Ningbo (Zhenhai District) and Wuhu (Anhui Province) — with a combined floor area exceeding 124,000 m² and annual production capacity of up to 1,000,000 units.
Export sales account for approximately 50% of total revenue, with products distributed across 80+ countries including Germany, the UK, Italy, the US, Canada, Brazil, and Russia.

THOTH is the global export brand of Ningbo Zhongyi, launched in 2009. The name draws from Thoth — the ancient Egyptian god of knowledge, wisdom, and the moon. It was chosen deliberately: hydraulic engineering is a discipline where precision and deep technical knowledge determine whether a system lasts or fails.
The THOTH / ZiHYD product range covers orbital motors, radial piston motors, hydraulic steering units, planetary gearboxes, hydraulic winches, and rotators — distributed globally through authorised partners and direct OEM relationships.
