ZBM / ZBMR Hydraulic Motor with Integrated Brake

Drive and hold in one housing — an orbit motor with a multi-disc brake, shuttle valve and control circuit built in. Up to 2,330 N·m of brake torque held with no working pressure.

THOTH ZBMR hydraulic motor with integrated multi-disc brake

ZBMR/N pairs a BMR geroler motor with a multi-disc brake, adding a shuttle valve and a built-in control oil circuit so the brake releases on pressure and re-applies on stop — no separate brake valve, no external plumbing. Short radial dimension and a single mounting interface.

One design consequence worth knowing before you specify it: the brake engages at six points per revolution, so after a stop signal the shaft continues roughly 60° before it locks. ZBMR is a load-holding brake, not a positioning brake — if the application needs stop accuracy, use an external brake or a transmission with a spring-applied disc.

ZBM is the cycloid-motor variant of the same idea: the friction pack engages automatically on start and stop and holds position without working pressure, built for high system pressure. Typical duty for the family is injection moulding machines, transmission drives and horizontal pulling.
